My experience of three years at Law College Dehradun, as LL.B. student proved to be the best years of my life. Every class and every semester gave me a deep insight into the profession of law.
The hallmark of LCD is the teaching methodology which gives the students both theoretical and practical knowledge. My due regards to the principal as will as my teachers who have motivated, guided and succeeded in bringing out the best in me.

This esteemed Institution Law College Dehradun is one of the finest and most successful law colleges in the northern region, with excellent facilities and a national reputation. My teachers provided me with a rigorous grounding in my chosen field of ‘law’. Together with a sound infrastructure and an amiable environment it moulded me into a professional. The primary asset of the Law College is the teaching staff and the flexible open door policy they offer. Contact is not just limited to class time and a set office hour, but can be arranged at the convenience of both the student and faculty to meet informally. The net result of this is getting problems properly sorted and staff developing a strong relationship with the students so they can better adapt to their needs at a teaching level. The facilities provided at LCD are also excellent.

Attending the LCD you take with you not only a knowledge of the law and legal system, but also an insight from experienced practitioners as to the realities of being in practice. This is doubtless a huge asset to anyone qualifying from the LCD and will no doubt set us on a path to a successful career in law. I am especially thankful to Bahuguna Sir who guided me into the right path, broadened the in-depth knowledge in me and boosted my confidence at every step.

As a result of which I was the only student selected among thousands on merit from the northern area except Punjab scoring the 8th rank in the LL.M. entrance test. Apart from this there is a huge choice of social and interactive facilities offered by the College. To name a few the Institutions it self offers opportunities to debates, to enter moots and mock parliaments. In addition, the students run The Debating Society which organizes inter and intra debates and career development events. Being an active member of this students body not only improved my oratorial skills but also my managing and organizing skills. Nostalgia envelops me as I look back to the first day in college, where from a simple girl in 5 years I was transformed into a professional. All credit to my College. Proud to be an LCDian. Thanks to one and all.

Law College Dehradun occupies a very special place in my life. It is not an institution where we have learnt but it has also added morals to our lives.
This institute has made us understand the theory and practical aspects of legal profession. Various means of teaching methods by way of Lectures, Seminars, Conclave, Legal Camps and Moot Court activities differentiates it from other law institutes. Law College knows your potentials, ignites the latent spark in you, serves as your torchbearer and is therefore, best suited to bring the best out of you. It is always at your stand by. This college leaves no stone unturned in achieving new heights every time. It gives me immense pleasure to thanks it’s teaching and non teaching staff for their incredible contribution. I record my sincere thanks to Law College Dehradun in grooming me to become the person that I wished to be.

It was an amazing experience being a part of this esteemed institution throughout my career as a student which can’t be expressed in words but still I am trying to convert my feeling into words. I would like to share with you that I opted this course/profession by choice not by chance and LCD has proved me right. This institution has boosted my confidence level and guided me to move in the right direction.

LCD has always encouraged me to believe that even an ordinary student like me without any background in this field can also do well. I have always tried to do my best and am still trying. Certainly, LCD shall have some expectations from me to enlighten their name in this field. Now its my turn and I promise that I would keep no stone unturned to fulfill their expectations. Further I would be deeply obliged if I could do something in any manner for this institution and for my juniors.

Although everybody, including all my faculty members, my friends and my hostel mates have always encouraged and supported me for this little achievement, I do thank to all of them from the bottom of my heart but special thanks to Dr. Rajesh Kumar Bahuguna, Principal, Law College Dehradun and Mr. Rajesh Kumar Dube (Former Law Faculty member).

I believe that college is the most important time in any person’s life. These few formative years teach us a lot not only about the world around us and the people who make it the place it is, but also about ourselves and the way we can handle every day pressures and deal with challenges.
When I look back I’m reminded of the enormous support and guidance I received from Mr. G.P. Sharma, Director, Law College when I was faced with the herculean task of laying the foundation stones of the Debating Society as its founder Vice-President. LCD provided me the perfect platform to discover and develop my own abilities and utilise them to the maximum.

In my arguments before the High Court today, I seek inspiration from the Constitutional law lectures of Dr. Bahuguna who with his vision, untiring effort and commitment to excellence has made LCD as what we see it today. Dr. Bahuguna indeed inspired and motivated me at every step and it was largely because of his guidance that I was able to top the University in the 2002-2007 session.

It is heartening to learn that new societies such as the Moot Court Society and Youth Parliament have come up on the model of the Debating Society. I deeply cherish the love and guidance I received from Mrs. Padmini Chakravarty. She not only taught me how to perform under tough and demanding situations, but, till date I draw inspiration from her very cheerful and helpful nature.

I’m sure under the leadership of Dr. Bahuguna, the college is destined to figure in the top ten colleges of the country soon.

I would like to share my happiness and feelings with the family of ‘Law College Dehradun’ because of which secured the first rank in (in B.A.LL.B. 5 year integrated course) HNB Garhwal University for the year 2009 and has also cleared the Himachal Pradesh Judicial Services Exam in my First attempt. No doubt it is the blessing of God and full cooperation of my parents but your hard-work, right direction at right time, punctuality and cooperation are also unforgettable. I am very thankful to you and all the respectable faculty members of this pioneer institution because this is the hard-work and blessing of all of you which had led me to achieve this position. This is the institution from which I have, not only, received my degree in law, but it has also made me able to understand the words and spirit of law.

This is one of the best institutions of law in northern India having a well furnished library and supporting faculty members who are honestly/fully inclined to pay personal attention towards each student .I think this is one of the exceptional colleges where blackboards are being used in order to make concepts of law easier. I am also thankful to the Hon’ble Principal for establishing LAAC (legal aid and awareness cell) because it is bringing the students closer to the society and leading them to understand the role of law in society. This enables the students to understand the practical aspect, need and object of law. And the camps organized by this society of the college are also providing a great exposure as well as a great chance to interact with the people. The manner in which faculty members of this college teach the students is also very effective and helps the students to understand the concepts of law. I feel proud to be a student of this college.

I owe my success to Dr. Rajesh Bahuguna the Hon’ble Principal , Dr. Poonam Rawat & all other faculty members of this college .Without your worthy guidance and encouragement, I would not have achieved this position and cleared the Himachal Pradesh judicial services exams in my 1st attempt. Your college is the best place for building foundation strong as well as for the judicial services preparation. I shall ever be thankful to this college.
