Established in 2004, the College has a students body named Legal Aid and Awareness Cell (LAAC), responsible to organize legal awareness camps regularly in the remote villages of the state. The participation of the Panchayat representatives of the block is invited. In these camps issues concerning the working of Panchayats are discussed and Panchayat members are educated about their duties and way of functioning. Participation in Lok Adalats and Legal Literacy Camps in remote villages is an integral part of practical training for law students.

At Law College Dehradun, great emphasis is laid on efficient organization of these sessions. We have an enthusiastic participation of students, the legal fraternity and the villagers at our Legal Literacy Camps. LAAC has organized following successful Legal Literacy Camps:

ii. Workshop - Main Speaker in a Workshop for Students organized by Uttranchal State Legal Services Authority on the eve of Inauguration of The National Legal Literacy Mission on 4th December 2005 at St. Joseph’s Academy, Dehradun.

A conclave on Consumer Protection on 10th April, 2010 at premises of Law College Dehradun in the benign presence of Hon’ble Mr. Justice S. K. Jain, Chairman, Public Services Tribunal, Uttarakhand.
