Legal research foundation (Library of Law College Dehradun)

A student of law who aspires to be a lawyer and not merely pass law examinations must learn to use legal materials. He should be proficient in acquiring the habit of first hand work among sources. Along with knowledge of law reports and statute books, a law student should be familiar with the library as a whole with its paraphernalia of catalogues and books of reference.

The library of Law College Dehradun was elevated to the status of Legal Research Centre in 2008. It was inaugurated by Justice Mr. M.M. Ghildiyal then a judge of Uttarakhand High Court. The wide library resources offer the students an open access to book and journals. The scholars are assisted by research staff to locate literature and information pertaining to their areas of research, general reference, and current awareness. The research center has computerized catalogue and welcomes not only its own students to access but also Ph.D. students of different universities to use information resources.

Library staff encourages the students to make maximum utilization of available resources. Since the Law College campus is Wi-Fi enabled campus our students have easy access to information directly from computerized data base.
